MercyMe has had a lot to celebrate lately, as their latest single, “To Not Worship You,” hit No.1 on four different Billboard and Mediabase charts. The song is the second No.1 from their latest best selling project, ALWAYS ONLY JESUS, following the Dove Award-nominated Song of the Year track, “Then Christ Came.”
Additionally, another of MercyMe’s No. 1 songs, “Almost Home,” (inhale/exhale) has also been certified Gold by the RIAA, bringing the band’s certification tally to total 15 gold, platinum and multi-platinum singles and albums.
Recently the band wrapped up their “Together Again Tour,” which hit 16 cities in October with past tourmates Crowder and Andrew Ripp. Currently they’re out on a twelve-city co-headline run with TobyMac and also featuring Zach Williams. All tour information and tickets are available at mercyme.org.

The iconic show, which began in 1928, attracts attendees from all over the lower mainland. There will be many varieties of daffodils on display, most of them developed right here in Bradner. There will also be plants and shrubs for sale at wholesale prices from vendors who do not normally sell to the public. An array of crafts and art will also be on display and for sale. Decorating for the show will be done by the floral design experts at Simply Perfect Flowers of Abbotsford.
Our Tea Room features soups, sandwiches and goodies all made fresh in our licensed kitchen. As always, all proceeds from cut flower sales will be donated to Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
This year’s show promises to be extra fun as we welcome Scruffles the Clown who will open the show on Friday, April 12th at 2 pm. Scruffles is well known for his mastery of balloon creations. Come see what clowns and flowers have in common. You may be surprised!

Winners of a 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grant and the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2022, the New York City-based Isidore String Quartet was formed in 2019 with a vision to revisit, rediscover, and reinvigorate the repertory. The quartet is heavily influenced by the Juilliard String Quartet and the idea of ‘approaching the established as if it were brand new, and the new as if it were firmly established.’
The members of the quartet are violinists Adrian Steele and Phoenix Avalon, violist Devin Moore, and cellist Joshua McClendon. The four began as an ensemble at the Juilliard School and, following a break during the global pandemic, reconvened at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in the summer of 2021 under the tutelage of Joel Krosnick.
Their Banff triumph brings extensive tours of North America and Europe, a two-year appointment as the Peak Fellowship Ensemble-in-Residence at Southern Methodist University in Dallas beginning in 2023-24, performances at Haydn Hall in Eisenstadt (in spring 2023) and the Lucerne Festival, plus a two-week residency at Banff Centre including a professionally produced recording, along with extensive ongoing coaching, career guidance, and mentorship.
The Isidore Quartet’s 2022-2023 season will feature debut appearances in Pittsburgh, PA; Durham, NC; Burlington, VT; Kalamazoo, MI; Evanston, IL; San Antonio, TX; Laguna Beach, CA (with pianist Jeremy Denk and violinist Stefan Jackiw); and Seattle, WA (with violinist James Ehnes). The quartet will return Washington’s Kennedy Center as part of the Fortas Chamber Music Concert Series and will also perform for Schneider Concerts at the Mannes School of Music. In Europe they will perform at Esterhazy Palace in Austria and will spend time at the Britten Pears Arts Institute.
The quartet will be working as a resident ensemble with PROJECT: MUSIC HEALS US providing encouragement, education, and healing to marginalized communities – including elderly, disabled, rehabilitating incarcerated and homeless populations – who otherwise have limited access to high-quality live music performance.
The name Isidore recognizes the ensemble’s musical connection to the Juilliard Quartet: one of that group’s early members was legendary violinist Isidore Cohen. Additionally, it acknowledges a shared affection for a certain libation – legend has it a Greek monk named Isidore concocted the first genuine vodka recipe for the Grand Duchy of Moscow!

November 14, 2023 – “I Want To Know What Love Is”, “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Juke Box Hero,” “Urgent,” and no less than five more Top 10 hits. Today, FOREIGNER, the band behind these iconic songs announcesits historic Farewell Tour of Canada.
Set to begin on May 3, 2024 at the Abbotsford Centre in Abbotsford, BC, FOREIGNER will be joined by Headpins, one of Canada’s 80’s hit-makers. The spectacular show will thrill audiences with stellar performances of chart-topping songs. Tickets go on sale on November 17, 2023. The full routing and ticket links can be found below.
FOREIGNER will continue its long-term initiative with the GRAMMY Museum Foundation to support music education in Canadian schools. The band will join radio partners to create a contest for local high school choirs to win the opportunity to perform a song live on stage with FOREIGNER, together with a donation to their music program.
Leader and founder of FOREIGNER, Mick Jones said, “Many years ago, I wrote a song called ‘Feels Like The First Time’ and now we are performing one last worldwide tour. We will be presenting a show that I know will have the same enthusiasm as our very first appearances. While I’m sure our fans will have mixed feelings about the end of the road for the band, I know our shows are going to delight audiences everywhere.”
Says FOREIGNER lead singer Kelly Hansen, “The time has come. We have more or less lived our lives on the road for almost eighteen years. We have always strived to give you our best and we intend to finish this the same way. Foreigner has a brilliant and increasingly demanding catalogue of songs to sing and I refuse to give them less than they deserve. So, we’re going to finish strong. I want to make it very clear how grateful and appreciative we are to our audiences all over the world who have supported this band. I’m sure there may be occasions when we’ll do some special appearances, but I think the time is coming for us to live off the road. Thank you all so much!”
“We are very excited to announce a Western Canadian Tour with Foreigner scheduled for May 2024. We are greatly looking forward to sharing the stage and performing all our hits,” says Headpins.
Mick Jones continues to elevate FOREIGNER’s influence and guide the band to new horizons with his stylistic songwriting, indelible guitar hooks and multi-layered talents while lead singer Kelly Hansen, one of rock’s greatest showmen, takes FOREIGNER into the digital age inspiring a whole new generation of fans. Bassist Jeff Pilson; Michael Bluestein on keyboards; guitarist Bruce Watson; Chris Frazier on drums and guitarist Luis Maldonado provide an unprecedented level of energy that has resulted in the re-emergence of the astounding music that speaks to FOREIGNER‘s enduring popularity.

The superstar logged the #1 Billboard Country song of both 1989 and 1990 for “A Better Man,” and “Nobody’s Home” respectively, both from Killin’ Time. The last time that happened was 35 years prior, with Hank Williams Senior’s “Kaw-Liga” and “Your Cheatin’ Heart.”
“Time flies when you’re…Killin’ Time!” commented Black. “My band and I are very excited to play the album top to bottom. Revisiting these songs has been inspiring and we can’t wait to hit the road and play it for the fans!“
